What has a nicer look to it than a vintage, solid-wood card catalogue? I have a little metal one at home, but I've always wanted a large, stand-alone wooden number. A quick search of the web found the two images above, and I'm sure lots of people have found creative ways to use card catalogues.
This is sort of nice.

That looks amazing. I love it! While I appreciate the irony ("NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE LIBRARY!"), I think I'd use it to store other things. Paper clips, perhaps. Hair barrettes. Magic beans.
