I recently watched this great 6-hour Italian film (originally a mini-series). It starts in the 1960s - sigh, Rome in the 60s - and follows a family to the present.
A.O. Scott wrote a good review - he's right when he says that it's as engrossing as a grand 19th-century novel. It's too bad that I couldn't find any good images, because a lot of the scenery, interiors, and clothes are beautiful.
This looks so good! I'm checking it out from my library today. Thanks!
ReplyDelete0h gosh, i hope you like it. come back and tell me what you think, if you feel like it. it made me sad (and weepy) but in a delicious way - their lives have ups and down, but are so full and essentially happy.
ReplyDelete6 hours. wow. sounds intriguing. i'd need some knitting or lollies to get me through. i've got the attention span of a tired 2 year old.
ReplyDeleteoh, i didn't watch it all at once. though.. i probably could have, if i'd had the luxury of a block of time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful film, absolutely loved it. Thanks for the recommendation.
