Another design for hot weather. Rooms open onto the shaded veranda and balcony so that doors can be left open all the time, even when it rains. I love how the front door opens onto the veranda, and not directly into the house. Read more here.

Living where I do, I am constantly wondering how people survived theses summers without AC. It's interesting seeing how these houses you've been showing are designed to stay cool.
