Nostalgic California

The actual nut tree, a black walnut, 1937.

Covered entryway.

Eames chairs in the dining room.

The Nut Tree is a restaurant/theme-park on the highway between San Francisco and Sacramento. It opened in 1921, closed in 1996, and re-opened in 2006. Needless to say, the current version is nothing like the original. The aesthetic was a bit reminiscent of Mary Blair, especially the childrens' play areas.
